We're learning together how to best connect and promote the region.

JOIN US IN THE ACTION!

WHO: All Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Organizational Leaders (and those impacted by tourism) headquartered in and/or serving Northwest Missouri

WHEN: We hosted an interactive and engaging discussion online via Zoom in January - March 2022. Our first gathering hosted by the Communications CollaborACTION Team of Maximize NWMO was held on January 7th (See the video recording and slides on this page or visit https://bit.ly/MNWMOTourism_1) with participants expressing a desire to continue the sharing of ideas and hope that more colleagues within the tourism and outdoor recreation sector join!

By the beginning of March, we were delighted to host a presentation by Amy Supple on the Hwy 36 Heritage Alliance and The Way of American Genius. Please find the recording in the video section of this page.

We will continue to keep tourism in the Communications CollaborACTION Team's meetings. Please let us know if you would like to join the conversation! The purpose of holding the series of Tourism Discovery Groups was to explore what is going on, how much of the tourism activity in the area is linked/aligned with each other, and whether further assistance could be provided through the support network of Maximize NWMO. Another purpose has been to simply uplift all of the great things going on!

WHY PARTICIPATE?

* This team of volunteers from throughout the region has a BIG IDEA they'd like to discuss to see if it has any merit and whether it is being worked on yet.

* There are already some great collaborative organizations focused on tourism in the region. We're hosting an opportunity to learn about each other as a collaboration of collaborations. Make sure your organization and perspective are represented!

* Maximize NWMO is all about finding and supporting opportunities to work on shared interests and mutually beneficial projects that no single organization can effectively move forward on its own.

* There may be some significant one-time opportunity grant funds available to support multiple organizations that are willing to dream big and grow together to maximize everyone's potential. Let's toss some ideas around and see if the funds are worth pursuing or not. Several grant writers may be willing to help you participate as a part of the Maximize NWMO network.

* The team is also interested in tourism and outdoor recreation plans for recovery and growth over the next few years following the pandemic because the primary purpose of the Communications CollaborACTION Team is to better connect and promote the region within and outside the region.
